When Chase Claypool shocked all of Canada, scoring 4 touchdowns in a game, football fans knew they had just witnessed raw talent. He is a great human being. But his road to the NFL was certainly not an easy one.

As a young kid, Chase was in too BMX riding. He was so into it, that he promised his Mom that he would be a professional some day. He was a freak of nature, really. 6'4", and 240 pounds of pure muscle. Life was good in the Claypool household. 7 siblings, 2 of which being step-brothers. He was living a pretty good life, until something happened. One morning, Chase's mother woke him up in tears. When Claypool asked what had happened, she told him that his older sister Ashley, was gone. She had taken her life. "I never really wanted to believe it," Claypool said, but that incident made him stronger, mentally and physically. Everything he would do from that day on, would be for her.

In early 2016, Chase got a call. It was Brian Kelly, the Notre Dame Football Coach. He said that he noticed his potential, because of his freaky athleticism. For the next 4 years, from 2016-2019, he was a wide receiver for the "Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team." Throughout those years, Claypool found impressive success, especially in his senior year. In his final year at Notre Dame, he had 13 touchdowns, and over 1000 receiving yards, in just 13 games played. With those senior stats, it solidified him a spot in the NFL.

"With the 49th pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers are proud to select, Chase Claypool from Notre Dame University." Hearing Coach Tomlin say those words, gave Claypool a sign of respect, and great honour. He was more than happy with the pick. He joined a team tied with the New England Patriots for the most Super Bowl Titles in the world. He was a perfect fit for the team. He quickly made close friendships with fellow youngsters WR Juju Smith Schuster, and QB Mason Rudolph. Building this chemistry made the Steelers significantly improve. In fact, Claypool has played a huge role in their 5-0 start to the season. He made 4 touchdowns in a game against the Eagles, and another yesterday against in a 38-7 bullying of the Cleveland Browns.
